This research explores the concept that by combining two nonverbal languages, movement and art, we can aid people who have difficulty expressing themselves in words. In order to bridge current technology in the field of art therapy, the study considers the suitability of applying motion-sensing technology and generative art to enhance the therapy provided to clients. A gesture-based art instrument, Mindraw, will be created to engage clients in a manner to allow them to express the repertoire of body movement in the drawing process. It is hoped that by providing a playful whole body interaction as an adjunct to traditional art therapy we will be able to further understand the viability of technology in the creative healing process.
